This week, we're looking at the Cartesian Plane.
Go on, we dare you, ask us anything about the Cartesian Plane! We can tell you how to:
We started by drawing our Cartesian Planes, then we buddied-up and challenged each other to locate a given coordinate on our planes. We pointed to them using our fingers as we didn't want any pencil or ink on our worksheet just yet.
Next, to add something a little different, we were all given a small box of Smarties each. Still in our groups, we now used the Smarties to plot our given coordinates. A lot of our pages got very bright by the end of the lesson. Some of us worked out patterns to make by giving specific coordinates to our buddies.
So, c'mon! Who wants to challenge our knowledge on Cartesian Planes? Oh, did we mention we also know who invented the Cartesian Plane? Yeah, we have that covered, too.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work and we pay our respects to the Elders both past and present.
